Let’s talk about the biggest question in life. No, not “What” as is “What’s my purpose?” And not “When” as in “When will I see the change I want?” And not “Where” as in “Where did I lose my mind?”
Though I admit, those are some pretty big ass questions, and you should definitely explore them at some point. But before you can go into the whats and whens and wheres of life, we gotta look at a whole other question.
Who?
Who’s responsible for it all? Who makes all the things happen around you and to you and because of you? Who is it that pushes you to the next situation so you can experience the next level? And who pulls you back down time and time again whenever you just felt like you were on your way to something scary ass big?
There’s a chance you might hate the answer, Sis. But I’m hoping by the time you’re done reading it, you fucking love it.
The answer? You.
The Good
Look, it’s pretty easy to take credit for all the good shit that happens. You know the hard work it takes. You know what you’ve put in. And you want to feel the fucking celebration when it all comes together.
You earned that promotion. You bought the house. You made the world shake with impact when you created that program to kick off change, and you watched the ripple effect that happened because of your hands.
Hell. Yes. You did it. And you should celebrate. Not just the hard work it took to hit every goal, but you should also celebrate the honesty that went into it. The actual vibe you lived so you could surprise even yourself by creating pieces of your life that feel fucking great.
Yes, sis. Pat yourself on the back every single time. Because this is what you’ll end up tallying up as the proof to show that you can do whatever the hell you want, if you can connect your spirit and live your truth as authentically as possible.
The Bad
Okay, okay. Don’t come after me for this one. You know that time when your last project failed? Or when you called the bank and were denied yet again for a loan your business could have used? Or when you got the phone call to say your kid wasn’t accepted into that fucking privileged school you really wanted them in?
Sis, no matter how much you might want to scream out into the void and blame it on bad luck, the universe ain’t out to get you. Somehow or another, you’re doing it to yourself.
Either you’re putting a bigger goal on your plate than your heart thinks it can handle. Or you’re doubting yourself before you even step a single damn foot forward. Or you’re out there, living like you’re someone else, masking with the best of them.
Like I said, don’t blame the messenger. I just call it like I see it.
But before your underpants get into a twist, this isn’t a bad thing. In fact, it’s probably the most powerful fucking thing you can admit to.
The Power In Between
Think about it, if you’re in charge of every fan-fucking-tastic thing that ever happens, and you’re in charge of every shitty thing, it all boils down to the same point.
You are in charge.
Not the world around you. Not your boss. Not your spouse. Not your kids or Aunt Susan or the guy down the street. Not even God himself can do all of that without your guidance.
Which means at every moment in time: good, bad, and in between, you have the opportunity to make a shift however you want. You can turn it around with a simple reflection: “If I’m the one controlling all of this, what did I do to make this shit happen?”
The ability to figure that out gives you the ability to take a stronger grip on the reigns of control. Meaning, at any moment, you can make fucking amazing shifts. And that’s not something you can do by putting the blame on bad luck.
You Deserve the Credit
Now I’m not going to sit here and say that you should passively accept any of this. I don’t do anything in my life passive, and I don’t believe you should either.
That’s especially true when it comes to your life path.
Because if you have the big ass power of creating life’s moments, why wouldn’t you take the credit? It’s all you, Sis. You and your connection to your authenticity.
So go ahead. The next time something shitty happens, take the credit. And figure out how you can literally manifest it to turn around.
Because that power is yours, and you deserve every ounce of credit that goes with it.
