Look, we all know that in order to live a longer, healthier life, you need to give your body the nutrients it needs to sustain itself. Hell, if you want a long, healthy life that you can also be proud of, you need more than the sustainability of what you have now. You need to exceed those expectations.
The question then becomes how do you exceed the current status quo? The answer is pretty fucking simple. It all boils down to feeding your soul.
But your soul isn’t some separate entity outside of your human form. No, sis. Your soul is a part of you, and so is your body. And you have the choice to either be an active part of that connection or keep your blinders on.
What’s Going In?
Seriously, take a look at the things you’re putting inside your body right now. What does that look like? Are you filling your plates with a colorful, perfect food pyramid? Or are you dumping a bowl of sugar disguised as “whole grain cereal” in your breakfast bowls?
Now I’m not saying that you shouldn’t indulge in a handful of Lucky Charms once in a while, but we’ve gotta keep it all in perspective here.
Feeding yourself sugar in the morning, McDonald’s in the afternoon, and drowning it all with a bottle of tequila at night isn’t exactly going to fill you up with the good shit that will get your body going.
And if your body isn’t going, your soul can’t go either.
Kick the bad habits
Now that you’ve had a look at what you’re stuffing in your face on the regular, it’s time to determine what needs to go.
Look, I know sometimes you just need to hit the local drive-thru because time got away from you. Or you might want to reward yourself with a slice of cake. And God knows, sometimes that glass of wine at the end of the day just hits hella good.
But weekly? Daily? Every moment? Sorry, sis. We can’t have you doing that.
Bad habits are just that: Bad. But they’re even worse when you realize it’s more than just the calories you’re taking in and the fat percentage of every bite. It’s about allowing your body to be in good, working shape so that you can allow your spirit to be in the shape it needs to manifest the things you want.
Replacing those bad habits with good ones: Limiting the crap intake, replacing snack candy with a piece of fruit, making sure you get three good meals a day, etc, will automatically open up the possibilities of creating more opportunities for yourself.
Lean in on the good shit
Something I learned a while ago is that when you fall back on the crappy foods, your taste buds start to enjoy it. Sorry, but if you teach those buds to expect it, they’re gonna ask for more of the same.
But also, after a while, your body goes, “Damn, girl. The fuck are you doing to me?” And your soul says, “Exactly my thoughts, sis. Cuz whatever is happening on the inside is fucking shit up on the outside for us, too.”
Which means you need to have a hard talk to your cravings and get them in check. Teach them that when you pay attention to what you’re putting in, you get more that comes out. Eventually, when you see the transformations happen, you’ll start craving the things that will actually do you good.
- Good food keeps you from feeling sluggish.
- Good food invigorates your mind.
- Good food allows you to focus on what you need, so you can create what you want.
The connection between body and soul
Good health isn’t about having a six pack. Regardless if your body is round, pear, or stick shaped, it’s about loving yourself enough to fuel up with the things that will energize your body and allow your soul to be free.
Free to ask the universe for what it wants, free to be who you are authentically, and free to be open to whatever is supposed to come next.
Look, I’m not a nutritionist. I’m not going to tell you to go count how many carbs you’ve eaten in the last week or so. And I’m not going to ban you from your favorite red bottle in the kitchen.
But what I am going to tell you is this: If you’re looking to feed your soul and lead a happier healthier life, then you need to feed your body in a way that allows that to happen. These things aren’t separated.
You have the choice to either put down the roadblocks that will prevent manifestation from happening or lift them so that creation is possible. The question is, which one will you choose?
